It has recently come to my attention that a post of this nature may be overdue, so here goes.
We are so pleased that many of you have chosen to stretch your role playing muscles by experimenting with special races and classes offered on a PRC server and we do not want to discourage future play from characters of this nature. But, I do wish to point out that if you select a race or class that would be considered outside the “norm” then you should expect to and react to IC situations as they present themselves in the manner you race/class/alignment would dictate.
What this means is, if you are playing something outside of a human, elf, dwarf, hin, or half elf. Then you could and will be met with a wide variety of actions and reactions. You may be loved on sight, hated on sight, taunted, chased, badgered, beaten, robbed and so on. That is something you should consider if you chose to play such a race/class.
You need to consider that just because you have “permission to play the race/class by the staff does not mean you will accepted in town, out of town or protected by the guard. If you have managed to procure an in game writ or pass to be in town, that only means the guard will offer you the same protection as anyone else and what they do not see is hard for them to stop and guards in Harrowport are not paladins and though they are charged with enforcing the law may be obliged to turn a blind eye to a Drow for example getting a beat down, if they share the attackers feeling on the matter.
The bottom line is this. If you wish to play a special class and you run afoul other players ICly, then make sure you are responding ICly to them. If a DM is around they will, if they can, monitor the situation and keep it IC. When the interaction is over it is over and if the DM makes a call on anything that happened one way or the other there is no debate on the matter. If post then interaction you feel as if your PC was not treated in an IC manner that does not mean you get to debate it with the other player OOC or with the DM ad nausea. You order of recourse is to contact me via a PM on the forums, with details of the interaction, your thoughts and your suggested resolution. Including a log of the interaction is also helpful in supporting your case but not required. I will then talk to any other member involved and give you and answer within a few days.
Please keep in mind that abusing other players or the staff on this server are grounds for banning. It is our goal for everyone here to enjoy themself.
